Explanation of the moodle question creation screen
Explanation of the question creation screen
When creating questions in moodle there are a lot of little settings that are difficult to understand what they are. This article will try to explain them.
I'll start with the multiple choice questions, which I feel I have the most opportunity to use.
general
I'll leave the "problem name" and "problem text" for you to figure out.
"Default grade", this sets how many points this question will get. In moodle you should think of questions and quizzes as separate groups. For example, let's say you want to make a quiz that is worth 10 points. For example, let's say you have a quiz that is worth 10 points, and you want to set a multiple choice question. This is the item that sets how many points this question deserves in that quiz.
"General feedback" is the message that appears after you answer a question? An explanation? Well, something like that. It says "general feedback", so it will be shown to everyone after answering the question. If you want to show feedback only to those who answered correctly or incorrectly, you can set it in the General Feedback section at the bottom of the screen.
"Single or Multiple Answers?" allows you to select a single or multiple answer when answering the question. This choice will change some of the operations that follow.
"Do you want to shuffle the choices?" is the setting whether to shuffle the order of the choices for each answer.
"Do you want to number your choices?" allows you to choose whether you want to set a number, English, etc. before the choices.
answer
Enter the content of the choice in the area marked "Choice".
The "grade" is the number of points that the choice has. This "grade" should be set to whatever the "default grade" is, which is %. It is important to note that you need to adjust the grade depending on whether you have a single answer or multiple answers.
You must achieve a grade of 100% in one of the options.
The sum of the positive grades must equal 100%.
"Feedback" is the message that appears when you choose that option as your answer? An explanation? Well, that's what it is.
Click "Add 3 more choice input fields" to add more choice input fields.
Other settings
In "General Feedback", the message displayed when you answer correctly or incorrectly? Explanation? can be set.
It is best to think of "Multiple Attempts" as "Multiple Answers" to be precise. When you make a mistake in this question, you can answer it again with a hint and a point reduction.
"Tags" is a field to set tags for management in the question bank.
"Created Date/Last Modified Date" is just what it sounds like.
The many settings in moodle
This is an example of how to create a multiple choice question, which is the second easiest question to create in moodle. Many of you may think this is not detailed enough. On the other hand, is there anyone who still needs more? In other questions, you can set the units in detail, how much error is allowed in calculation questions, how many decimal places are allowed, and so on. In other words, you can't create a problem without setting the details. Whether you see this as an advantage or a disadvantage will depend on how you evaluate moodle.
